Police Enforcement in Wymeswold

The Charnwood North Policing beat team conducted a ‘Fatal 4’ operation in Wymeswold on Monday 22nd July between 08:00 and 12:00. ‘Fatal 4’ is a term used by the emergency services which summarises the four most likely causes of a fatal road traffic collision: drink driving, speeding, driving whilst using a mobile phone and driving without a seatbelt. The operation concentrated on Far Street and East Road (A6006)and officers dealt with the following:
- 16 drivers for excess speed. Speeds monitored between 36 and 43mph.
- 2 drivers without seat belts.
- 1 vehicle without road tax.
- 1 vehicle without a front number plate.
All drivers were issued with traffic offence tickets.
